The Digital Gap

Lack of access to devices or the internet keeps children a full generation behind.

Most children in the slum communities we work with have never touched a computer before joining our centres. Without a phone, laptop, or reliable internet at home, everyday tasks that other students take for granted — typing an assignment, researching a topic, taking an online test — remain completely out of reach.

This isn't just an inconvenience; it's a widening gap. As schools and workplaces move further online, children without digital exposure risk being locked out of opportunities long before they even finish their education.

That's why our centres provide shared Chromebooks and supervised digital literacy sessions — so a child's first experience with technology is safe, guided, and empowering rather than a barrier they hit later in life.
